James Schroeder, CEO of Health Share of Oregon, has been appointed interim director of the state's Health Authority, Oregon Capital Chronicle reported Dec. 13.
Mr. Schroeder has led Health Share of Oregon, the state's largest Medicaid provider, for the past two years. He held executive roles at Kaiser Permanente, most recently as vice president of safety net transformation, according to LinkedIn.
Mr. Schroeder will take over the agency, which directs behavioral health, public health and Medicaid, on Jan. 10. The current director, Patrick Allen, will step down Jan. 9.
Oregon Governor-elect Tina Kotek indicated during her campaign she intended to replace Mr. Allen and appoint a new director, Oregon Capital Chronicle reported.
