Gainwell Technologies hires former CMS deputy director as chief client engagement officer 

Gainwell Technologies, a Tyson, Va.-based technology solutions company for health and human services, has named Karen Shields chief client engagement officer.

Ms. Shield previously served as deputy director of CMS’ Center for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program Services. She was also deputy director for operations in CMS’ Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, according to a May 17 press release.

At Gainwell, Ms. Shields will work to understand and anticipate clients’ various needs and challenges. Alongside the product management team, she will apply these learnings to ensure consistent fulfillment of clients’ needs.
