Former Regence Group medical director joins payment integrity startup

Collinsville, Conn.-based Penstock Group has named Robert Haskey, MD, as chief medical officer

Dr. Haskey will consult on the payment integrity startup’s clinical side regarding operative records, supporting the team when an appeal comes in, and navigating coding gray areas and provider documentation. He will also be responsible for guiding development of healthcare data analytics tools to provide insights into billing trends and variances to increase accuracy in medical billing, according to a June 15 news release.

Dr. Haskey was a medical director with the Portland, Ore.-based Regence Group, a four-state Blue Cross Blue Shield company. He then joined Canada-based CGI as senior medical director and oversaw several CMS recovery audit programs.
