Kenneth Burdick, a former Centene executive, has left the company’s board of directors, effective July 28.
Mr. Burdick was previously Centene’s executive vice president of products and markets, as well as CEO of WellCare Health Plans. He also served as CEO of UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“After careful consideration, I have decided the time is right to step down from the Centene board to focus on personal priorities and other opportunities,” Mr. Burdick said in a July 28 news release.
Paul Diaz, a managing partner at private investing firm Cressey & Co., joined the board of directors that same day. The release said he had been president and CEO of genetic testing and precision medicine company Myriad Genetics. He also served in the same capacity at Kindred Healthcare, a healthcare services company.
“I look forward to drawing on my experience across the healthcare industry to help advance innovation, strengthen access to high-quality care and support Centene’s continued impact for its members and stakeholders,” Mr. Diaz said.
