Pat Geraghty, president and CEO of Florida Blue and parent company GuideWell, will chair AHIP's board of directors beginning in 2024.
According to a Nov. 13 news release, Mr. Geraghty succeeds current chair David Holmberg, CEO of Highmark Health, whose two-year term concludes at the end of 2023.
AHIP, the trade association representing the health insurance industry, is led by a board of 30 payer CEOs.
"As board chair, I am honored to further AHIP's role as a leading voice in how we ensure all Americans get the care and coverage they need to meet their full health potential," Mr. Geraghty said in the news release.
Mr. Geraghty has led Florida Blue since 2011, according to his LinkedIn profile.
