Elevance Health has named Kofi Essel, MD, as its new food as medicine program director, a company spokesperson told Becker’s June 23.
Dr. Essel most recently worked as a pediatrician at Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C. and was the director of the culinary medicine program at George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
At Elevance Health, he will lead a “multi-phase food as medicine strategy.”
