Delaware names first director of value-based care

Delaware has selected Cristine Vogel as its first director of value-based healthcare delivery.

Ms. Vogel was most recently director of population health initiatives for Danbury, Conn.-based Nuvance Health, according to a Nov. 9 news release from the office of Delaware Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro.

In her role, Ms. Vogel will oversee Delaware's efforts to make healthcare more affordable, including accessing provider reimbursement rates, utilization of services and prescription drug spending.

"Hospital prices, the cost of medications, and low-quality services all raise the price of consumer care and insurance coverage," Mr. Navarro said in the release. "With Cristine's expertise on board, we can keep making progress toward higher-quality care at a lower cost."
