Mr. Kane will report directly to CVS President and CEO Karen Lynch. He is replacing Daniel Finke, who is stepping down for health reasons, according to an April 17 news release.
Most recently, Mr. Kane was a consultant to private equity firms focused on healthcare. Prior to that, he served as CFO at Humana until 2021, overseeing its primary care businesses. Before Humana, he spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs in the investment banking division.
“CVS Health has a unique collection of assets – including the Aetna business – that provide the opportunity to improve access to quality health care for all Americans,” Mr. Kane said. “My focus will be working with talented colleagues across the organization to help build on existing efforts to make health care simple, personalized and affordable.”
At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
