Brian Evanko, Cigna’s CFO since 2021, has been named COO, the company said in a Feb. 13 news release. Mr. Evanko has also concurrently served as CEO of Cigna Healthcare, the company’s insurance segment, since 2024.
The change is designed to align Evernorth, the company’s health services division, and its insurance arm, under one leader, Cigna Group CEO David Cordani said. Eric Palmer, CEO of Evernorth Health Services since 2021, will leave the company at the end of April.
“Brian’s combination of market perspective, deep business acumen, and keen focus on execution and value creation make him uniquely suited to lead the next chapter of our company’s growth,” Mr. Cordani said.
Stepping in as CFO is Ann Dennison, Cigna’s deputy CFO, the company said. Ms. Dennison joined Cigna in 2024 and was previously CFO of financial services company Nasdaq.
As COO, Mr. Evanko will receive a base salary of $1.1 million, according to regulatory documents filed March 13. Ms. Dennison will receive a base salary of $800,000. Mr. Evanko and Ms. Dennison begin their new roles March 31.
