Grocery chain Albertsons has named Tom Moriarty as executive vice president and general counsel, effective June 5.
"One of the things that excites me most about this opportunity is the vital role that Albertsons Cos. plays in the communities it serves as a grocery and pharmacy retailer committed to its customers and their well-being," Mr. Moriarty said in a May 19 news release.
Most recently, he served as executive vice president, chief policy and external affairs officer, and general counsel at CVS Health. He also served as chief strategy officer, EVP of global pharma, and oversaw all legal and regulatory functions related to CVS' $78 billion acquisition of Aetna in 2018.
Prior to CVS Health, Mr. Moriarty spent 12 years at Medco Health Solutions, where he played a key role in the company's merger with Express Scripts.
