Blue Shield of California has named Sandra Clarke as COO and Mike Stuart as CFO, effective Oct. 10.
Ms. Clarke was promoted after serving as CFO and executive vice president. Mr. Stuart was promoted from his position as senior vice president of operations finance, and will report to Ms. Clarke. The payer's former COO, Sarah Iselin, has been named CEO of BCBS Massachusetts, according to an Aug. 30 news release.
Ms. Clarke previously served as senior vice president and CFO of Japanese pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo. She was also a regional CFO at Philips Healthcare.
Mr. Stuart has been with Blue Shield for more than eight years and previously served as CFO at Daughters of Charity Health System, which closed as Verity Health in 2020.
