Dr. Mirsky most recently served as chief medical officer and vice president of medical operations for Aetna Medicare. He will focus on mitigating isolation and loneliness through face-to-face and virtual engagement and aims to address the medical, emotional and social determinants of health for seniors, according to an April 19 press release.
Dr. Mirsky joins San Francisco-based Better Health’s advisory board alongside former eHealth CEO Scott Flanders and former eHealth President of Medicare Business Bob Hurley.
“Dr. Mirsky shares our view that when it comes to home medical supplies, it’s not just a logistics issue, it’s a healthcare issue,” said Better Health co-founder and CEO Naama Stauber Breckler. “Finding the right products and knowing how to integrate them into everyday life has a profound impact on patients’ quality of life, health outcomes and cost of care. Dr. Mirsky’s deep understanding of payers and the needs of underserved aging populations will enable us to expand our impact as we support people at home through access to medical supplies, peer coaching and product experts.”
