Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island has named Farah Shafi, MD, as chief medical officer.
Dr. Shafi oversee the payer's clinical affairs, with special focus on youth behavioral health and initiatives aimed at improving colorectal cancer screenings and maternal health outcomes, according to a July 13 news release.
She is an obstetrician-gynecologist by training and previously served as deputy chief medical officer at Mass General Brigham Health Plan.
