Former president Stephen Harris has been named president of government programs at Health Care Service Corp., the parent company of BCBSIL.

Mr. Snell has been with the company for more than three decades, most recently serving as divisional senior vice president for Illinois group markets.

“Over the course of my 32 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, I’ve had the privilege to work with countless brokers and consultants on behalf of all our customers to help them meet their needs and the needs of their employees,” he said in a Dec. 23 news release. “As plan president, I’m looking forward to spreading that same message about our value and commitment to a wider audience and working together to help ensure we are helping build healthier communities.”

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
