The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association has named David Merritt senior vice president of policy and advocacy, effective Oct. 24.
Mr. Merritt will lead the association's advocacy efforts at the state and federal level, including lobbying, political affairs, legislative and regulatory development, coalitions and industry partnerships, according to a Sept. 19 news release.
He joins BCBS from AHIP, where he currently leads public affairs and strategic initiatives.
