Mr. Ricketts first joined Anthem in 1984 as a sales account representative and has been the plan’s president for the last five years, according to a June 10 news release.
His work included expanding and maintaining the payer as the largest health plan in Virginia. No successor has been named.
“It has truly been a privilege and an honor to lead this great company over the last five years in a state that has always been my home,” Mr. Ricketts said.
