5 recent payer exec moves

The following payer executive moves have been announced since April 11:

BCBS Minnesota named four new executives: Mark Steffen, MD, has been promoted to senior vice president of medical management and chief medical officer. Julie Loosbrock has joined Blue Cross as senior vice president and chief human resources officer. May Vang has returned to Blue Cross to serve as vice president of treasury and chief investment officer. Alicia Reuter has been promoted to vice president of legal, general counsel and assistant secretary within the legal department.

Better Health appointed Robert Mirsky, MD, to the company's board of advisers. Dr. Mirsky most recently served as chief medical officer and vice president of medical operations for Aetna Medicare.

The Alliance of Community Health Plans tapped Jennifer Lee, MD, as chief medical officer. Dr. Lee will lead the clinical innovation and data analytics teams.

Centene board member Leslie Norwalk resigned from the board of directors April 15. In an April 11 letter, Ms. Norwalk said the process surrounding a recent important decision fell egregiously short of what she and other board members considered appropriate to make an informed decision. She joined the board in January.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association named Erin Barney as vice president of network solutions. Ms. Barney will lead collaboration across the 34 Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to develop, deliver and maintain network programs that fit members' healthcare and will oversee initiatives that deliver high-value products and solutions, measure the quality and cost of programs, and promote value-based care.
