Partnership HealthPlan, NorthBay Health strike deal

Partnership HealthPlan of California and Fairfield, Calif.-based NorthBay Health reached a contract that will keep the nonprofit healthcare organization in network with the health system.

NorthBay and Partnership HealthPlan, which contracts Medi-Cal benefits with the state and local providers, had been operating under the same contract since 2016, according to a Nov. 22 news release. The health system began attempts to negotiate a new contract in 2021. After 18 months of informal efforts, NorthBay said it would terminate its contract on Nov. 30 if a new deal could not be reached.

NorthBay cares for 7,700 Partnership patients through its primary care services, and another 68,000 are assigned to NorthBay hospitals in the event they need hospital services, according to the release.

The sides did not disclose the details of the new contract.
