The change will not affect North Carolina state retirees who are members of Humana Medicare Advantage plans.
“I spoke with the founder of Tryon Medical today, and we have a great relationship with them,” North Carolina Treasurer Dale Folwell told NC Health News. “Our Humana Medicare Advantage people will continue to be covered.”
Humana Medicare Advantage members who are not state retirees will be significantly affected, however. Members with HMOs will not be able to see providers at Tryon, and members with PPO plans will face higher copays, NC Health News reported.
