Columbia, Mo.-based MU Health Care is back in network with some Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plans after a more than three-month split.

In a July 15 statement, the system and insurer said they had reached an agreement in principle for MU Health Care to rejoin Anthem’s commercial network, including employer-sponsored and marketplace plans.

The split affected around 90,000 members.

MU Health Care remains out of network with Anthem’s Medicare Advantage plans, according to the statement.

Anthem and MU Health Care went out of network April 1 after the two sides failed to reach an agreement on reimbursement rates. Leaders from MU Health Care and Anthem testified before a state committee about the contract negotiations June 30.

“We appreciate the patience and support of the patients in our community, our governing and advisory boards, elected officials, partners and countless others as we navigated through this process,” MU Health Care and Anthem said in a joint statement. “Our top priority remains ensuring our patients have in-network access to convenient, local healthcare from the providers they know and trust.”
