West Columbia, S.C.-based Lexington Health and Cigna reached a new agreement, set to go into effect July 1, according to a health system news release shared with Becker’s.

Lexington Medical Center and its affiliated physician practices went out of network for Cigna commercial members at the beginning of 2026. The May 26 news release said members with cancelled procedures and appointments can reschedule. These patients are being notified of the update through letters and MyChart.

“Reaching a fair and sustainable agreement requires time and continued dialogue,” Lexington Health CFO Jeff Brillhart said. “We are pleased to have this negotiation finalized, and most importantly, we sincerely thank our patients for their trust and understanding throughout this process.”

A Cigna Healthcare statement said, “Together, we will continue efforts to improve health and vitality for our customers and their families.”
