“Our relationship is about more than providing members with high-quality lab service at Labcorp’s patient service centers,” Paul Staudenmeier, senior vice president of total value contracting and reimbursement for Independence Blue Cross, said in an Oct. 24 news release.

“It’s also about working together to close gaps in care and improve members’ health through chronic disease prevention and management,” Mr. Staudenmeier said.

The Philadelphia-based payer has more than 7 million members. The contract with Labcorp took effect July 1, 2022.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
