Humana adds value-based durable medical equipment contractors for Medicare Advantage members

Humana will contract with two durable medical equipment companies to provide medical devices to its Medicare Advantage members. 

According to a May 11 news release, AdaptHealth and Rotech Healthcare will begin providing services to Humana's Medicare Advantage HMO members on July 1 under a value-based contract. 

In the news release, the payer said the new contracts will create a more unified approach to sourcing medical equipment. 

"We're excited about the partnerships we're announcing today because working with these organizations on a national level will help us streamline and simplify our efforts to get Medicare Advantage HMO patients the equipment they require with best-in-class service, while empowering health care providers to more efficiently fulfill their patients' DME needs," Kirk Allen, senior vice president of Home Solutions at Humana, said. 

The financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
