Georgia will award Medicaid contracts to four Medicaid managed care organizations.
According to a notice published Dec. 2, the agency plans to grant Medicaid contracts to Humana, CareSource, Molina and UnitedHealthcare.
The state's contracts are currently managed by Amerigroup, a subsidiary of Elevance Health, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan, part of Centene. The state did not award contracts to Aetna, Amerigroup, AmeriHealth Caritas, Peach State Health Plan and Sentara Health Care, according to the notice.
The state awarded its Georgia Families 360 contract, which provides coverage to children in foster care, to UnitedHealthcare.
Managed care organizations can protest the contract award decisions.
Georgia has nearly 2 million Medicaid enrollees, according to data from KFF.
