Afton, Wyo.-based Star Valley Health will return to Cigna’s network on Dec. 15, according to a Nov. 14 news release from the health system.
Negotiations have been going for months. Star Valley Health sent a letter to patients after reaching an impasse with Cigna ahead of a July deadline.
“This partnership is a win for our community,” Star Valley Health CEO Dan Ordyna said. “It restores access to high-quality, local care for hundreds of residents and employers in Western Wyoming. Patients can now stay closer to home for their care, and together with Cigna, we are committed to keeping healthcare accessible in rural Wyoming.”
Star Valley Health, which offers urgent care and specialty clinics, has one of the top 100 critical access hospitals in the country. Based on Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems data from CMS, patients highly recommend its medical center.
