Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare could go out of network with Cigna if the sides are unable to reach a new contract by May 15, the Louisville Courier Journal reported April 7.
The two sides have been working to reach a new contract since last year, according to the report.
"The costs connected to providing quality care continue to climb, just like costs have increased across various industries," Renee Murphy, Norton's senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer, told the outlet. "Cigna has been a good partner with us over the years and we hope to continue that working relationship."
