Dignity Health hospitals, physician groups, clinics and ancillary providers in Arizona will be out of network with Cigna’s commercial and Medicare Advantage plans if a deal is not reached, according to Dignity Health’s website.

A few of Dignity Health’s Arizona facilities, including Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Valley, will remain in-network with Cigna after Sept. 1.

In a statement shared with Becker’s, a Dignity Health spokesperson said the system’s goal is to have new contracts in place before Sept. 1.

“Over the last several months, we have been working with Cigna to reach a new, responsible contract agreement that puts patients first and keeps Dignity Health facilities and providers located in Maricopa and Pinal Counties in-network for Cigna members,” the spokesperson said.

A Cigna Healthcare spokesperson told Becker’s the insurer will continue to work with Dignity Health to reach a contract.

“After negotiating with Dignity Health for months on a fair contract, Dignity Health continues to demand significant rate increases that will make health care much more expensive for customers and their families,” the spokesperson said. “Our goal is to keep healthcare affordable for the people we serve in Maricopa County and we will continue to work with them to reach an agreement before the current contract ends.”
