Centene subsidiary awarded Delaware Medicaid contract

Centene subsidiary Delaware First Health has been awarded a statewide Medicaid managed care contract.

Delaware First Health will provide integrated services for physical health, behavioral health and long-term services and supports through Delaware’s managed care programs, including Diamond State Health Plan and Diamond State Health Plan-Plus, according to a July 12 Centene news release. The plans are expected to begin Jan. 1.    

Centene is the largest Medicaid managed care company in the U.S., according to the news release. With the Delaware contract, Centene is entering its 30th managed care state.
