Blue Shield of California, University of California Health face July split

Blue Shield of California and University of California Health hospitals, clinics and physicians across six academic health centers will go out of network on July 10 without a new contract in place.

The network split would affect commercial, ACA, Medicare Advantage and state employee retiree plans.

UC San Francisco Health’s facilities and providers, UCSF Medical Center, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals San Francisco and Oakland, UCSF Medical Group, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Physicians would all be affected. One Medical, a UCSF affiliate, would also go out of network. UCSF Health Community Hospitals at Saint Francis and St. Mary’s are not affected.

UCLA Health, UC Davis Health, UC Riverside Health, UC San Diego Health, and UC Irvine Health facilities would all be affected.
