Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts agreed on a three-year contract set to take effect Jan. 1, according to the insurer.
Almost 200,000 UMass Memorial patients are insured by BCBS of Massachusetts. The current agreement was set to expire at the end of the year.
“We realize these past few weeks of uncertainty were hard for members like you who get care at UMass Memorial Health,” BCBS of Massachusetts said in a news release. “We value the care that UMass Memorial Health physicians and hospitals give to our members and are happy that we were able to reach a new agreement.”
