The payer and provider are continuing to negotiate, but are struggling to reach a deal, according to the report. Cigna is accusing Ascension of seeking “excessively high rates.”

Ascension previously sent letters to affected Cigna members stating that the provider may leave the network as soon as June 15, but that date was later extended to Aug. 13.
