The new contracts begin Oct. 1, 2024. The state did not renew contracts with the current holders, Mercy Care and Banner University Family Care, according to a Dec. 1 news release.

Centene’s Arizona Complete Health and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan will provide health services to about 26,000 individuals who are elderly and/or living with a physical disability.

The initial contract term runs through September 30, 2027, with options to extend a total contract period of seven years.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
