Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System, owned by Ardent Health, and Health Care Service Corp.’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico have established a four-year agreement to maintain in-network status.
The health system and insurer originally faced a June 1 contracting deadline. The new agreement covers commercial, Medicare Advantage and Turquoise Medicaid plans.
“Our teams worked to reach a solution that preserves uninterrupted access to care while also recognizing the resources required to sustain high-quality healthcare in New Mexico,” Cliff Wilson, Lovelace’s president and CEO, said in a May 25 statement.
In 2013, Lovelace sold its insurance arm, Lovelace Health Plan, to Health Care Service Corp. and BCBS New Mexico.
