Aetna and Providence were facing a Sept. 1 split, which would have affected about 35,000 people, the Seattle Times reported.

“Providence and Aetna, a CVS Health business, are pleased to announce that we have reached a multi-year agreement that keeps hospitals and doctors in the Providence family of organizations in Washington and California in network for all Aetna members,” an Aetna spokesperson told Becker’s. “We are pleased to have reached an agreement that puts our patients and members first and look forward to continuing to collaborate to support their care.”

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
