Medical Mutual, Kroger ink agreement for Medicare Advantage members

Medical Mutual of Ohio and Kroger Health reached an agreement to provide in-network services to Medical Mutual’s Medicare Advantage members.

The agreement took effect Jan. 1, according to a Feb. 17 news release. 

As of Jan. 1, Kroger is out of network with Express Scripts, Cigna’s pharmaceutical benefit manager. 

In the news release, Tere Koenig, MD, chief medical officer of Medical Mutual, said Medicare beneficiaries can switch to a Medical Mutual plan at any point during the year because the plan has a five-star quality rating from CMS.
