Members can use an activity tracker, smartwatch or smartphone to meet daily goals and then add their financial rewards to a prepaid debit card or deposit them into a health savings account, according to a Feb. 8 news release.

Eligible activities include:

  • Achieving 5,000 steps or more daily
  • Completing 15 minutes or more of activity daily
  • Tracking sleep for 14 nights
  • Receiving a biometric screening
  • Completing a health survey
  • Selecting paperless billing

The new rewards program is now available to fully insured plans, with plans to extend the program to self-funded members next year. The payer also said that additional activities will be added to the program throughout 2023.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
