The agreement comes days after Mercy Health’s existing agreement with Cigna expired Jan. 1.
The system operates multiple hospitals and clinics in Ohio and Kentucky. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the split would have affected 12,000 Cigna members at four Mercy Health hospitals and 20,000 more at Mercy Health clinics.
