Bright Health, which has faced numerous financial challenges in 2022, said in April it will exit the individual markets in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Friday pulled out of ACA exchange markets in Texas after insurance regulators in the state asked it to leave following operational challenges.

In a message to providers sent Nov. 18, UnitedHealthcare said they could see more patients if members affected by the exits choose to switch to, or are automatically enrolled in, UnitedHealthcare plans.

In the message, the payer said it is working on a “smooth transition” for everyone.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
