The pilot program, Aetna Advance Primary Health, will be available to self-insured employers and businesses with more than 51 employees beginning Jan. 1, according to a news release published Nov. 10.
Catherine Gaffigan, MD, president of Aetna’s Northwest-Mountain market, said the plan will give members access to primary care in addition to behavioral health, physical therapy and chiropractic care from Crossover Health.
“This offering will also provide access to the entire broad Aetna network and represents the type of innovation the market is demanding in the commercial insurance industry,” Dr. Gaffigan said in the release.
Crossover Health provides virtual and in-person primary care and currently has clinics in Washington, New York, California and Texas, according to its website.
Scott Shreeve, MD, CEO of Crossover Health, said he believes the pilot program will be a success in the Seattle market and will spur “rapid expansion” to other markets.
