“It’s a great moment to bring together tremendous complementary skills, capabilities, technologies and perspectives on the marketplace,” CEO Andrew Witty said. “As we roll through the next two quarters or three quarters, we really anticipate a kind of new Optum Insight emerging from this integration.”

UnitedHealth’s CFO John Rex said the integration is expected to bring in $800 million in revenues to Optum Insight in the fourth quarter and have no impact on operating earnings.

The company closed on its $7.8 billion purchase of Change Healthcare Oct. 3 following an antitrust challenge from the Justice Department.

The deal, which was also heavily scrutinized by providers and medical groups, was previously deemed “anticompetitive” by the government because Change Healthcare now has access to Optum’s data from insurer clients — UnitedHealth has said there are strict policies in place to protect sensitive data.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
