Including combined salary, stock awards and additional compensation, Mr. Broussard earned $10.3 million in 2015. In 2014, his total earnings were $10.1 million.
In light of the pending merger between Humana and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna, recent documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission show Mr. Broussard may receive up to $40.2 million if his position is taken away, according to the report.
In addition, these Humana executives received the following amounts in compensation in 2015:
- James Murray, executive vice president and COO: $3.5 million
- Brian Kane, senior vice president and CFO: $2.3 million
- Timothy Huval, senior vice president and chief HR officer: $2.3 million
- Jody Bilney, senior vice president and chief consumer officer: $2.2 million
