Employer healthcare spending expected to rise $13K per employee next year, report finds

U.S. employers’ healthcare expenditures are expected to rise by an average of 6.5 percent, or $13,800 per employee, in 2023, financial services firm Aon said Aug. 18.

Aon calculated the increase using healthcare budget data from 700 employers representing 5.6 million employees.

From 2021 to 2022, healthcare budgets increased 3 percent, and the current inflation rate is 9.1 percent.
