Centivo taps top UnitedHealth attorney as general counsel

Centivo, a self-funded health plan provider centered around value-based care, has named Tara Johnson as its first general counsel.

Ms. Johnson will lead the company’s legal operations and will serve as an adviser on all company legal matters, reporting directly to the company’s chief business officer, according to an Aug. 3 news release.

Previously, she served as senior associate general counsel, director regulatory affairs at UnitedHealthcare’s Northeast commercial business. She also held key legal and business positions at Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield.
