The national federation of 34 BCBS companies said it plans to lease 95,000 square feet of space in the Aon Center at 200 E. Randolph Street, just one block from its current headquarters at 225 N. Michigan Avenue.

The move for about 765 employees is expected to take place in late 2023 or 2024, a spokesperson told the Tribune.

Health Care Service Corp., a licensee of the association, and its subsidiary BCBS Illinois will not move from their headquarters located nearby at 300 E. Randolph Street.

“We are excited about a new space that represents our long-term investment in our employees’ workplace experience, with a particular focus on ‘we space’ versus ‘me space,'” Jennifer Vachon, executive vice president of business operations for the BCBS Association, said in a public statement. “Our move to the Aon Center will provide employees with a flexible environment that meets our evolving needs.”

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
