The list features two prominent rankings: an All-Star top 50 across all industries and industry-specific rankings. All-Star companies were recognized based on the views of the international business community, while industry-specific rankings were organized based on peer evaluation, according to a Feb. 2 announcement from Fortune.
Six payers were recognized as industry leaders and ranked by their peers on the list.
Two payers — CVS Health and Cigna — were categorized under the “Health Care: Pharmacy and Other Services” category. CVS Health ranked No. 2 in the category and Cigna ranked No. 5.
The remaining four payers were categorized under “Health Care: Insurance and Managed Care,” and ranked accordingly in the industry:
1. UnitedHealth Group
2. Humana
3. Anthem
4. Centene
