The two companies pitched similar proposals to the county, but Humana’s offer to extend the two-year contract up to a third year with an increase capped at 5.9 percent swayed commissioners, according to the Journal-News.
The deal allows the county to stay with Humana for up to three years, with the option to review offerings after one year.
