The announcement pushes to expand the settings where COVID-19 testing is covered, now including schools. Children with disabilities in school also retain the same services and coverage they would receive in person if they are attending school remotely.

The American Rescue Plan is also providing a 100 percent match to funds tied to administering COVID-19 vaccines to Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries.

States also have the opportunity to receive an increased federal medical assistance percentage for extending Medicaid coverage to some low-income adults. Medicaid spending through Urban Indian Organizations and certain Native Hawaiian healthcare organizations receives a temporary 100 percent FMAP match.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
