Under a proposed partnership to align operations and services, PPP will provide resources and support to CareOregon. CareOregon will join Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health, of which PPP is a subsidiary.
PPP and CareOregon, both nonprofits, are seeking necessary regulatory and organizational approvals. They expect the partnership to close as early as January 2020.
Based in Portland, CareOregon has faced financial struggles in recent years, according to The Lund Report. The managed care insurer predicts a $10 million loss this year.
