There will be four new entrants to the Medicare Advantage market in 2027, according to CMS data.
In contrast, 11 payers that sold individual MA plans in 2026 won’t offer them next year, and the largest insurers collectively are pulling out of hundreds of counties nationwide.
Here are the four new MA insurers for 2027, listed by the number of counties they will serve:
- The Muscogee (Creek) Nation will offer one HMO, called Native Advantage, in 11 Oklahoma counties.
- Boise, Idaho-based St. Luke’s Health System will offer three HMOs with drug coverage through its health plan in seven counties across Idaho. St. Luke’s launched its health plan with individual and employer coverage in 2023.
- Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System will offer two HMOs with drug coverage in three Washington counties through its newly launched health plan.
- MedCare Partners Health Plan of Texas will offer three plans in Harris County, including one HMO and two C-SNPs.
