Many major health insurers are pulling back from some counties in 2027, while Singh Holdings, Blue Cross of Idaho and Devoted Health boosted their footprint.
CMS released data Sept. 28 on the 2027 Medicare Advantage landscape, showing which counties insurers are serving or exiting next year.
MA plan options are decreasing next year in 29 of the 51 jurisdictions where individual MA is available. Florida is losing the most plans overall (611 in 2026 to 560 in 2027), while Wyoming will see the steepest percentage decline (14 in 2026 to 8 in 2027) at 43%. The number of MA plans available nationwide will dip slightly from 5,553 to 5,532.
This analysis includes individual MA and MA-PD plans across 16 insurers, and excludes special needs plans, cost plans and standalone prescription drug plans.
